Certification Rules & Methodology
Certification Rules & Methodology
Effective date: 1 January 2026
Scope and Purpose
The Certification Center provides independent, evidence-based certification of professional contribution. Our methodology is designed to recognise individuals who have demonstrated significant and sustained achievement in their respective fields. This document sets out the rules, criteria, processes and standards that govern certification.
The Ten Criteria
Applicants are evaluated against ten criteria. Each criterion represents a distinct category of professional accomplishment:
- Awards and prizes -- Nationally or internationally recognised awards, grants, prizes or honours for excellence in the field.
- Membership in distinguished associations -- Membership in professional associations that require outstanding achievement as judged by recognised experts.
- Published material about the applicant -- Articles, features or profiles in professional or major trade publications, or in major media, about the applicant and their work.
- Judging the work of others -- Participation as a judge, reviewer or panellist evaluating the work of others in the field.
- Original contributions of major significance -- Original scientific, scholarly, artistic, athletic or business-related contributions of major significance to the field.
- Authorship of scholarly articles -- Authorship of scholarly articles in professional journals, or authorship of published books in the field.
- Exhibition or showcase of work -- Display of work at artistic exhibitions, showcases, or industry events of significance.
- Leading or critical role -- Performance of a leading or critical role in distinguished organisations, projects or initiatives.
- High remuneration -- Commanding a high salary or significantly higher remuneration relative to peers in the field.
- Commercial success -- Commercial successes in the performing arts, business ventures, product launches or other commercially measurable activities.
Minimum Criteria Requirement
An applicant must select and provide evidence for at least four (4) of the ten criteria. Meeting fewer than four criteria will result in the application being assessed as not meeting the certification threshold.
Evidence Standards
For each selected criterion, the applicant must provide:
- A clear written description of the achievement or contribution.
- Supporting documentary evidence (documents, links, images, letters, records or other verifiable materials).
- Evidence must be authentic, verifiable and directly attributable to the applicant.
- Each piece of evidence should clearly demonstrate that the relevant threshold for the criterion has been met.
The Certification Center reserves the right to request additional evidence or clarification at any stage of the review process.
Application Process
- Registration: Create an account on cert-center.org.
- Profile setup: Complete your professional profile, including your industry.
- Criterion selection: Select at least four criteria from the ten available categories.
- Evidence upload: For each selected criterion, provide a description and upload supporting evidence.
- Submission and payment: Pay the examination fee (USD 100) and submit your application for review.
Examination Process
All applications are examined by hand. Automated or algorithmic decision-making is not used to determine certification outcomes. Each examiner:
- Reviews the application independently.
- Evaluates evidence for each criterion against the published standards.
- Determines whether each criterion is met or not met.
- Produces a written assessment with feedback on each criterion.
The examination typically takes 5 to 10 business days, depending on volume and complexity.
Revision Process
If an application does not meet the certification threshold on initial review:
- The applicant receives detailed written feedback identifying which criteria require additional or stronger evidence.
- The applicant may revise and resubmit the application up to two (2) times at no additional charge.
- Each revision undergoes the same examination process as the original submission.
- If the application is still not approved after two revisions, the applicant must submit a new application and pay a new examination fee.
Certificate Issuance
Upon successful examination:
- The applicant is notified and invited to pay the certificate issuance fee (USD 400).
- Once payment is confirmed, a unique, digitally signed PDF certificate is generated.
- The certificate contains a unique certificate number and a QR code for public verification.
- Certificate data is recorded in our verification registry, accessible at cert-center.org/verify.
Certificate Revocation
A certificate may be revoked under the following circumstances:
- Fraud or misrepresentation: Discovery that evidence submitted was falsified, fabricated or materially misleading.
- Voluntary request: The certificate holder requests revocation.
- Court order or regulatory directive: A competent authority orders revocation.
The revocation process includes:
- The certificate holder is notified in writing of the grounds for revocation.
- The holder has 14 days to respond with any objections or additional information.
- A final decision is made and communicated in writing.
- Revoked certificates are marked as such in the public verification system.
Fees
| Fee | Amount | When payable | Refundable |
|---|---|---|---|
| Examination fee | USD 100 | Upon application submission | No |
| Certificate issuance fee | USD 400 | After successful examination | No |
Revision resubmissions (up to two) are included at no additional cost.
Examiner Independence
Examiners are required to act independently and impartially. An examiner must recuse themselves from reviewing any application where a conflict of interest exists, including personal, professional or financial relationships with the applicant.
Appeals and Disputes
If an applicant disagrees with a certification decision after exhausting the revision process, they may submit a written appeal to legal@cert-center.org within 30 days of the final decision. Appeals are reviewed by a senior examiner who was not involved in the original assessment. The appeal decision is final.
Amendment of Rules
The Certification Center reserves the right to amend these rules at any time. Amendments take effect upon publication on the website. Applications submitted before an amendment takes effect will be evaluated under the rules in force at the time of submission.
